Super Mom...

Here I am sitting this Sunday evening and find it hard to believe summer has come and gone, the coolness of fall is setting in and yes school has started. With this comes new challenges and yes....kids do share germs no matter how careful you are. After just 10 days of school both of my children have gotten their first cold of the season. But I know, this too shall pass.

I was reminded today in my reading that God tells us to cast our burdens upon him. His yolk is light and He is right there ready and willing to help if we just ask. Jesus is the light of the world and we are to walk by faith not by sight. Sometimes...many times, in my own walk I have a little trouble asking for help. You know that "Super Mom" syndrome, the I can do it all and I'm in control of it all. Well, I cannot do it all and I am not in control of it all. Let's face it when we take things into our own hands and don't seek the will of God...you just get worn out. It's like paddling up stream without a paddle.

So, as you begin this new week. As life happens...remember this passage from Matthew 6:25-34.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? " And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Be blessed and do not worry. You do not have to have it all together to be "Super Mom."
